Previo Tabs is a slow-dissolving, easy-to-apply chlorine disinfectant designed for water treatment for animal consumption. Disinfecting the water ensures high-quality livestock production from a sanitary perspective. Chlorination of tanks and wells is one of the fundamental pillars of a proper biosecurity protocol in livestock farming.
Its component, trichloroisocyanuric acid, typically contains a useful chlorine content of around 90%. Therefore, it is a very high concentration that dissolves slowly, which is why it is referred to as a slow-action disinfectant, ideal for regular maintenance of water to keep it in suitable conditions for consumption.
Trichloroisocyanuric acid has advantages over liquid chlorine or hypochlorite, as it lasts longer due to being stabilized chlorine. It is even more effective and easier to control than other chlorine sources in shock treatments. While other sources may be more economical, they evaporate chlorine content faster, produce more unpleasant odors, and require larger treatments (logical since hypochlorite yields 15% free chlorine compared to the 90% of trichloro).
Similarly, trichloroisocyanuric acid is less dependent on pH for proper release, whereas hypochlorite releases chlorine very abruptly at neutral pH or weak acidity.
Dosage
Recommended dosage: 1 tablet of 200 grams of Previo Tabs per 40 m3 of water, every 20 days as a general dose. However, high temperatures, presence of organic matter, or water hardness may influence the treatment, requiring an increase in dosage if necessary. The goal is to achieve a residual chlorine level between 0.5-1 ppm at the end of the line.
